The Caldwell Regional Career Center held an open house in conjunction with the local high school on Tuesday afternoon to welcome students and parents for the upcoming school year.
Students from Caldwell, as well as Trigg, Crittenden, Lyon, Dawson Springs, along with home school students, are enrolled in the technical vocational center where they are trained in skills in health science, computers, plumbing, welding, carpentry, electricity, and auto mechanics. Some students learn a trade that they can enter as a career, while others look to learn skills they can use personally during their lifetime.
Gabriel Hewitt is an incoming freshman from Caldwell County. He visited the Career Center during open house and is interested in learning what skills he can acquire using his hands for the future, instead of the college route for life.

The Health Science Department at the Career Center enrolls a large number of students interested in joining the health service fields. Lei Ann Brown and Lori Conway are the instructors for this course. Brown tells about the HOSA Club and the activities it offers to the students.
