Rose Stanley Lander Copeland, 77, of Princeton, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Baptist Health Paducah.
She was born in Christian County on May 4, 1948, to her late parents, Leslie Harry and Winnie Louise Sutfin Lander. Rose’s passion for life found expression in her graceful dancing. Her kitchen was known for its aromas of lovingly prepared meals. Rose was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church in Cerulean and was proud to share her love for the Lord. At the heart of Rose’s world were her family and friends. Rose’s singing voice was a cherished melody at family gatherings and moments of worship alike. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds.
Rose is survived by her son, Tony (Angela) Copeland of Paducah; daughter, Dena Copeland of Paducah; brother, Donald Earl (Mary Ann) Lander of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Kiana Riley, Gabrielle Copeland, Mason Copeland; two great-grandchildren, Carl Warren, Jr., Salea Riley; brother in-law, Claude Boyd of Princeton; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mahlon “Gene” Copeland; three sisters, Dorothy Louise Lander Gude, Clemmie Ophelia Lander Boyd, Martha Ann Rogers; two brothers, John Leslie Lander, Henry Lander.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
