We gather today to celebrate the life of Wanda S. Walker, a beloved mother, grandmother, who passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, at the age of 87 in Woodhaven, Michigan. Born on September 28, 1937, in Caldwell County, Kentucky, Wanda carried with her the unshakable warmth of her Southern roots throughout her life.

Wanda touched the lives of all she encountered with her gentle spirit and compassionate heart. She dedicated herself to her faith as an active member of the Southside Baptist Church, where she formed enduring friendships and served her community with grace.

She is survived by children: Thomas Walker and his wife Karen of Brownstown, Michigan, Daniel Walker and his wife Jo of E. Palestine, Indiana, and Robert Walker and his wife Patricia of Allen Park, Michigan. Wanda cherished her relationship with her brother, John W. DeBoe of Tampa, Florida, and her grandchildren Thomas Walker IV and wife, Lisa, Phillip Walker, DeAnna and her husband Jason Kawecki, Rebekah Walker, Matthew Walker, Joshua Walker,-as well as her seven great-grandchildren. Each of them has been engrained with Wanda's virtue of kindness and love.

Though now reunited with her beloved husband, Thomas James Walker, and her sister, Hilda DeBoe Payne, she leaves behind a legacy that will be carried on through the generations. Her parents, Johnnie Warden DeBoe and Roberta A. Jones DeBoe, instilled in her a strength and resilience that she passed down to her children and grandchildren.
