A Fredonia man was arrested on multiple charges after a pursuit with local law enforcement on Tuesday.
Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman reports that Deputy Anthony Brown was patrolling Farmersville Road when he saw a black pickup truck illegally pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. When the deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, he said the driver didn’t stop, leading to a pursuit that continued onto West Fork Road at speeds over 90 miles per hour before eventually stopping.
According to the sheriff’s office, 22-year-old Matthew Daniel Patton was taken into custody and charged with careless driving, second-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, failure to maintain required insurance, and no registration plate. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
Deputy Brown was assisted on the scene by Deputy Lamb and Deputy Englebright.
