An investigation into a stolen gun by local law enforcement led to the arrest of a Princeton woman on multiple charges, including drug trafficking.

Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison reports that around 3:20 Tuesday afternoon, officers and detectives were acting on information about a stolen handgun spotted at a home near the 800 block of Hopkinsville Street. Detectives spoke with 43-year-old Shannon Lane, who they said admitted moving the gun from the residence to her vehicle. Authorities recovered the handgun, which they said was confirmed to have been stolen on January 31 during a sting of vehicle thefts in the Country Club area.

During a consented search of Lane’s residence for additional stolen items, detectives said they found another handgun, about 134 grams of marijuana divided into five plastic bags, and several new marijuana vapes still in their packaging.

Lane was taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property (firearm), tampering with physical evidence, and trafficking in marijuana – firearm enhanced. She was booked into the Caldwell County Jail.
