Billy Joe Breedlove passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, at Caldwell County Hospital at the age of 62. Born on December 1, 1962, in Henderson, KY, he was full of life, a true character and lived life to the fullest. He absolutely loved music, to quiz you to see if you knew “who sang this song,” and also loved to make people laugh.
He was a valued member of this community since 1974, when his family relocated here. He was also a member of the Eddyville Assembly of God.
He is survived by his brothers, James “Bubby” Breedlove of Mexico, KY, Wayne Breedlove of Eddyville; Lisa Hina of Kuttawa, and Hope Fultz of Princeton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Dawn (Sean) Cotham, Charles Breedlove, Shirley Ann (Scott) Colley, James Russell (Rachel) Smothermon and Jeremy Breedlove; great nieces and nephews, Piper, River, Sloan, Gavin, Owen, Lincoln, Creed, Ashton, Lukas, Beau, Kali, Logan and Savannah Jane (Sam).
Billy Joe was preceded in death by his parent,s James Morton Breedlove and Shirley Decoma Key. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Delores Smothermon.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Lakeland Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Short officiating. Burial will follow in Kuttawa Cemetery in Lyon County, Kentucky.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Lakeland Funeral Home.
