The Black Patch Festival and Parade for 2025 is completed, and from the response from most of those attending, it will go down in the books as one of the largest and best Festivals that anyone can remember.
The weather was a slight concern for the weekend but after a short light shower early Saturday morning the threat of rain soon passed and the sun was shining down on the downtown Princeton area. The records show with over 160 booths scheduled for the downtown main street this was the largest number of vendors spreading from one end of the street to the other with several activities held on the Princeton City grounds. There were various free activities for the kids in that area plus the free inflatables and games provided at the stop light and side street. The vendors varied from home made crafts, speciality items, services, raffles, information and give-a-ways. Of course one of the main draws of the Festival was the food available with returning favorites and new food sourses.
Once the threat of rain passed the street began to fill and the rest of the day there was a constant heavy flow of visitors to the downtown area with many stating they had trouble finding a place to park. Princeton Optimist Club President Shirley Gray was very pleased with the Festival.
