Donald Rushing, 85, of Eddyville

Donald Ray Rushing, 85, of Eddyville, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Princeton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Crittenden County, Kentucky, on November 3, 1939 to his late parents, Taft and Stella Jennings Rushing. Throughout his life, Donald was known for being a hard worker, working diligently as a chemical operator at Air Products for over three decades and upon retirement, his desire to continue contributing led him to Celanese in Calvert City, where he eventually retired for the second time. Donald’s work ethic and reliability made him a cherished colleague and a pillar in his professional community. Outside of his professional endeavors, Donald was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Lyon County. Donald was an outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting, woodworking, gardening, and fishing. Donald was never happier than when he was atop his tractor bush hogging.

Donald is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Kay Rushing; daughter, LeAnn (Joseph) Matesevac of Paducah; and grandson, Noah Matesevac.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Donna Fay Watson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Lakeland Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Sexton and Bro. Don Houston is officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Lakeland Funeral Home.
