A Princeton woman was arrested on multiple drug charges and outstanding warrants after a report of a suspicious vehicle in Lyon County.

Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reported that on Sunday afternoon, August 31, just before 3:00, he observed a vehicle in Kuttawa that had been previously reported as suspicious in the area.

After the vehicle stopped on Old Kuttawa Road, Sheriff White said he determined the driver, 42-year-old Amanda Hammons, was in possession of marijuana, with more marijuana, meth, and pills found during a search of her vehicle. Sheriff White noted that Hammons also had two outstanding arrest warrants.

Hammons was taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She also faces charges for contempt of court on a Hopkins County warrant and failure to appear on a bench warrant from Shelby County.

Hammons was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
