The Caldwell County Grand Jury has issued two indictments on sex-related offenses following its September session.

A true bill was returned on James Martin, of Princeton, on a charge of first-degree rape.

Martin is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with another person who was incapable of giving consent because she was less than 12 years old between August 18, 2024, and April 17, 2025.

The case was investigated by Kentucky State Police Post 2.

Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison says Martin was arrested shortly after 8:45 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street on his Caldwell County Circuit Indictment Warrant. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.

Cameron Cox, of Waverly, Tennessee, was indicted on charges of procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means, first-degree sexual abuse, and first-degree attempted unlawful transaction with a minor.

According to the indictment, between February 1, 2025, and April 9, 2025, Cox entered the Commonwealth from another jurisdiction for the purpose of procuring and promoting the use of a minor.

The indictment also states that on or about April 1, 2025, in Caldwell County, Cox is accused of subjecting a person under 16 years old to sexual contact.

Additionally, between February 1 and April 9, 2025, Cox allegedly attempted to induce, assist, or cause a minor under 16 to engage in illegal sexual activity.

The Office of the Attorney General investigated the case.

Both cases were presented directly to the grand jury, bypassing proceedings in Caldwell County District Court.
