Caldwell County officials are taking action to protect local communities and forests as wildfire risks escalate.
In response to current and forecasted weather conditions and heightened wildfire risk, Judge-Executive Kota Young signed an executive order Thursday prohibiting all outdoor burning in the county and in the incorporated areas of Fredonia and Princeton.
The executive order will remain in place until further notice.
