The Eddyville Police Department is welcoming a new officer to its ranks following last week’s graduation ceremony at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training’s basic academy in Richmond.
Michael A. Massey, Jr. was among 38 officers in Class 561 who completed over 800 hours of training in patrol procedures, physical training, vehicle operations, defensive tactics, criminal law, traffic and DUI firearms, criminal investigations, cultural awareness, bias-related crimes, and tactical responses to crisis situations.
Since December 2019, 2,151 officers have completed basic training, with the latest 38 graduates joining more than 8,000 law enforcement officers working to keep Kentucky communities safe.
