After a period of heightened fire danger in Caldwell County, rainfall this week has improved conditions, prompting local officials to revise safety guidelines.
Caldwell County Judge-Executive Kota Young has announced the recent county-wide burn ban will be lifted beginning at 8:00 a.m. Thursday.
Judge Young signed an executive order on September 11 prohibiting outdoor burning throughout the county, including the incorporated areas of Fredonia and Princeton, to help protect local communities and forests as wildfire risks increased due to the dry conditions.
