
A Princeton couple was killed Thursday night when their motorcycle and a semi-truck collided on Interstate 69 in Caldwell County.
According to state police, they received a call from Caldwell County Dispatch around 8:20 p.m. for assistance with a crash on Interstate 69 northbound near the 75-mile marker.
Police say a preliminary investigation indicates Gregory Standard of Louisville was driving a semi-truck and trailer northbound when he reported a motorcycle ahead of him experienced equipment failure, and he was unable to avoid a secondary collision.
Police say 55-year-old Michael McAlister and 57-year-old Laura McAlister were pronounced dead at the scene by the Caldwell County Coroner, and their families have been notified.
The semi driver was not injured in the crash, and police say that no criminal charges have been filed at this time.
Kentucky State Police Post 2 is continuing to investigate the fatal crash.
