A Kuttawa man is facing multiple charges after law enforcement responded to a burglary in progress in Lyon County last week.

Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports deputies, along with the Eddyville Police Department and Kentucky State Police, were sent to the burglary complaint on Wilderness Road just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, after a caller reported up to five people being involved in the burglary. Upon arrival, he says 30-year-old Jacob Buchanan, was the only person at the scene.

Sheriff White said that the investigation revealed Buchanan was under the influence of methamphetamine and experiencing hallucinations while in the presence of officers. He noted that Buchanan was found in possession of illegal drugs and firearms.

Buchanan was taken into custody and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth), 2nd offense, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, false report of an incident to law enforcement, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
