KY 295 has reopened at the Crittenden-Lyon County line after a new bridge was completed ahead of schedule, restoring traffic for hundreds of daily drivers following months of closure due to safety concerns.

According to the state transportation officials, the Livingston Creek Bridge was closed in March 2024 as a precautionary measure after an inspection revealed structural issues. The bridge is located between Millie Peek Road in Crittenden County and Joe Peek Road in Lyon County.

Officials noted that after funding was secured, design work was finished, and the right of way was obtained, construction on the $1.2 million bridge replacement project began in late April and wrapped up about three weeks ahead of schedule.

About 693 vehicles reportedly travel this section of KY 295 each day.
