UPDATE – KY 93 South in Lyon County is Open

As of 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports that the crash site has been cleared and the road has reopened.

Authorities are reporting that KY  93 South in Lyon County is closed at the 13-mile marker due to a crash.

Around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reported  KY 93 South at KY 293 and KY 1055 will be closed for several hours following clean-up of a two-vehicle wreck. According to law enforcement, one driver was airlifted to an out-of-state hospital and is expected to survive, while the other driver refused medical transport at the scene.

Motorists should avoid the area and seek an alternate route.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the road closure is expected to last over four hours.
