The United Way of the Coalfield has announced that its Community Grants are now open, and they are seeking volunteers in Caldwell County to serve on the Community Impact Committee.
According to Executive Director Ashley Alexander, the Committee will meet in each county, so the volunteers have a say where the funds go. She says they will have a training session this month in each county, and then next month, visit the nonprofits in each community that have applied for the grants. If you’re interested, she said, they will also meet once a month to talk about current needs within the community.
Training in Caldwell County will be on Wednesday, October 22, at 10 a.m., at Princeton City Hall, 206 East Market Street in Princeton.
