Princeton City Council Applies For Bridge Grant

The Princeton City Council met in regular session Monday afternoon at 5:00 pm for a short meeting lasting less than 10 minutes.

The minutes from the previous meeting were approved as well as payment of bills. Public Works Director Chris Pool reported they had been working on several ditches in hopes of avoiding flooding to several areas in the future and had plans to work with the Princeton Water Department to identify more areas that might have flooding issues.

Animal Control Officer Kevin Lane announced there has been a rabies vaccination clinic scheduled for November 6th from 8 am to 4 pm at the Caldwell County Animal Shelter. He noted this will be the first clinic in several years and will be offered to dogs, cats and ferrets for $5.00 per animal and $10.00 for horses.

Mayor Thomas reported that 160 large item request had been submitted to the City for pick up and removal from yards. He stated that some inmate labor had been used to assist the City with removal of the items.

The Council approved resolution #10-20-2025 applying for a grant of over $222,000.00 to assist with the replacement of bridges inside the City of Princeton. Mayor Thomas explained about the grant.
