The Caldwell County High School Band of Pride competed in the Regional Marching Band Competition held Saturday at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville.
The Regional Contest determined the top 6 bands in this end of the State to move on to the State Marching Band Contest to be held next weekend. For the first time in several years the local marching band not only qualified to move on to compete in the next stage of competition but also tied for 3rd place as a result of the contest. Caldwell County High School Band Director Mason Henry shared about the regional contest and his excitement about the day.

click to download audioHenry announced that since the contest next Saturday morning is mid morning and it is also over a two hour drive, the Band is going to provide the public a chance to come to the local football field this coming Friday evening at 5:30 to watch their final practice before loading the busses to leave for Hart County. He feels like this will give the students a great send off and allow the community to show their support for the band.

click to download audioIf the band finishes in the top six places on Saturday morning they will move on to the Finals of the Marching Band Contest to be held at the Western Kentucky Football Field in Bowling Green. The final marching order and times will be determined by random draw after the Semi Finals are completed. The Princeton Rotary Club and the Princeton Optimist Club are joining together to provide the band members with a meal while they are competing this weekend.
