Jamie Compton, 54, of Nortonville

Jamie Compton, 54, of Nortonville, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was born in Christian County, Kentucky, on December 5, 1970, to his mother, Virginia “Sue” Grant Akin, and his late father, Bailey Blane Compton.

Jamie was a man who found joy on the open road, spending many years as a proud truck driver. Earlier in life, he also worked in a stockyard handling cattle. He had a deep love for horses, Native American history, old westerns, classic movies, and never missed a chance to laugh at an episode of Scooby-Doo. Jamie was known for his quick wit and love of joking around.

In addition to his mother, Jamie is survived by his companion, Stephanie Hale of Nortonville; step-daughter, Cortney Compton of Fairview, KY; two step-sons, Cody Hendricks of Madisonville, Colten Kaelbli of Nortonville; one sister, Kimberly Fountain of Oklahoma; four brothers, Sam (Lauren) Akin of Princeton, Earl Compton of Cadiz, Randy Compton of Cadiz, Brandon Compton of Gracey, KY, Dustin Compton of Gracey, KY; and one step-granddaughter, Cheyanne Russelburg.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded by his stepfather, James Leon Akin.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. Butch McKnight officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until service time on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Macedonia Cemetery West in Pennyrile State Resort Park in Christian County.
