Maureen D. Abernathy McCartney, age 81, of Princeton, passed away on November 2, 2025, at her home.
Maureen was born January 8, 1944, to the late Maurice and Wanita Rose Abernathy. She had a green thumb and was known for her love of plants. Maureen was a Master Gardener in Washington State. She was also an avid quilter, always sewing love into her pieces. Maureen loved dogs, fishing with Doug, and her greatest love of all was for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Douglas E. McCartney of Princeton; sons, B. Keith McCartney of Oregon and Dennis Michael (Tammy) McCartney of Louisiana; grandchildren, Erin Goodall, Devin McCartney, Danielle McCartney, and Megan McCartney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy “Dotti” Sue Thomas; brother, George “Butch” Abernathy.
There will be no services held at this time.
Morgan’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
