Everett Euen Rustin, 85, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, peacefully at his home.
He was born in Caldwell County, Kentucky, on April 29, 1940, to his late parents, Gideon and Willie Frances Rustin. A graduate of Fredonia High School, he built a lifelong career as a self-employed carpenter. His work included building homes and later, custom cabinetry that he created in his shop behind his house. His love for working with wood was matched only by his love for his family and his faith.
Everett found joy in strumming his guitar, tending to his garden of onions and hot peppers, and spending time with his beloved granddaughter and great-grandchildren. A man of deep faith, Everett loved the Lord above all and often shared that love through teaching Sunday School while a member at Chapel Hill Baptist Church. His favorite book of the Bible was Romans.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pat Traylor Rustin; daughter, Lorie (Todd) Timmons of Hopkinsville; two sons, Chris Rustin and Nathan Rustin, both of Caldwell County; granddaughter, Zoe (Cabott) Gilkey of Princeton; three great-grandchildren, Forrest, Aubrey and Blake.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Dale Young; sister, Thelma Cook; four brothers, Clarence Rustin, Lawrence “Doc” Rustin, Eldon Rustin, John Paul Rustin; and two grandsons, Matthew and Zachary Young.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Caldwell County with Bro. Jerry Holeman officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in Everett’s memory to Pleasant Hill Cemetery, c/o Dana Hobby, 300 E. Green St., Princeton, KY 42445.
