Local schools and organizations will honor the brave men and women who have served our country on Veterans Day, Tuesday.

Caldwell County Schools will honor local veterans Tuesday morning with a special celebration at the elementary school—including breakfast, a program, and a campus-wide parade—with the high school also hosting a lunch for veterans related to students.
At 11:00 a.m., the Princeton VFW Post 5595 will host its annual service at the Caldwell County Courthouse in Princeton, with Judge Executive Kota Young as the guest speaker. There will also be a rededication of the Veterans War Memorial during the service.
Also At 11:00 a.m., the Fredonia Valley Heritage Society will host its annual Veterans Day service at the Fredonia Veterans Memorial Park on Cassidy Avenue in Fredonia
Meanwhile, locally owned McDonald’s restaurants will celebrate Veterans Day on Tuesday by offering veterans a free breakfast.
McDonald’s Public Relations and Communications Manager Amanda Campbell says retired and active-duty military personnel can receive a free breakfast combo meal of their choice—including a hash brown and medium soft drink, tea, or premium roast coffee—during breakfast hours at participating McDonald’s restaurants across the Greater Tennessee Valley, including areas in Western Kentucky. This offer is available at participating McDonald’s locations for current or former military members who are in uniform or present a military ID.

Local McDonald’s owners say they appreciate the sacrifices and dedication of our local veterans and want to show them a little extra appreciation on this day.
