Northside Baptist Provides Free Community Meal

The Youth Ministry of the Northside Baptist Church provided a free meal for anyone in the community on Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The meal, consisting of spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, dessert, and drink, was served in the church’s recreational building. They offered a place for individuals to come inside and eat at decorated tables or to pick up a meal for take-out. This meal came from an idea from within the youth of the church during one of their regular meetings, as a concern for people in our community who may be suffering from a shortage of food. The group discussed what they could do to help out, and the free meal event was created, and plans began to be made to present it to the public.

Zach East serves as the Youth Director at Northside and shared his thoughts on the meal.

High school student Xander Sample is involved in other service projects and said he was always excited to serve others and share about God.

Aliya Towns is a member of the Northside youth group and was glad to be a part of coming together as a youth group and serving God and the community.

The Northside youth group, with the assistance of the adult leaders, set up the tables for the meal, prepared the food, and helped serve the entire meal, assisted guests as they came to pick up the meals and carried the food to their vehicles, and cleaned up the building and kitchen after the program was completed. The Northside youth group invites any students in middle or high school to come and get involved in their Ministry.
