Caldwell County Schools announced on Wednesday that test scores increased for the 2024–2025 school year, reflecting strong academic progress throughout the district.

According to school officials, Caldwell County High School received a prestigious Blue rating on the Kentucky Summative Assessment, reflecting a significant increase in reading and math scores. They said this prestigious rating places CCHS among the top schools in the state. Officials also pointed out an additional achievement: increases in both four-year and five-year graduation rates.

Reading and math scores reportedly increased throughout the district. Officials said Caldwell County Elementary and Middle Schools recorded gains in science, social studies, and combined writing. Officials noted that the increase in scores contributed to a color change in the rating system for Caldwell County Middle School.

In a written statement, Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach said they are “pleased with these results.” He noted that “students have worked hard to improve in all areas.” He said the district’s students and teachers continue to focus on what their impact will be, and that focus is evident with the growth shown in these scores. Dr. Roach said he’s proud that they have “had growth in all the schools and that they perform at the top of the region and state.”

The Kentucky Department of Education’s accountability system uses a five-color rating scale—Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and Blue—to reflect school performance, with Blue representing the highest level.
