A Paducah man is facing attempted rape and assault charges following his arrest in Princeton over the weekend.

Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison says officers were sent to the area of Hillview Court in reference to an EPO violation and assault shortly after 9:30 Sunday morning. Upon arrival, officers reported they saw 34-year-old Tyler Masse walking away, but within 500 feet of the protected residence and person.

According to police, the woman reported that Masse broke in through the home’s back door and started assaulting and strangling her. Police said she also alleged that Masse attempted to rape her during the incident.

Masse was taken into custody and first-degree attempted rape, first-degree strangulation, second-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, and violation of a KY EPO. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
