Fiscal Court Approves Board Appointments, Hears Property Tax Collections Update

The Caldwell County Fiscal Court approved several appointments to the airport board and received an update about property tax collections at Tuesday’s meeting.

Judge-Executive Kota Young presented magistrates with the three reappointments and one appointment to the Princeton-Caldwell County Airport Board.

click to download audioDuring reports, Sheriff Don Weedman gave an update on property tax collections, stating that as of 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, collections were at 58.11 percent, and had risen slightly to 58.23 percent just before the meeting.

click to download audioHe explained that Wednesday, November 26, was the final day to pay property taxes in person at the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and still receive the discount before Monday, December 1st, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. He added that the drop-box at the Caldwell County Courthouse remains available and will be checked at midnight on Sunday, November 30th, for any last-minute property tax payments with the discount.

The next regular Fiscal Court meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 9, at 9:00.
