Demolition is underway on the former antique mall in downtown Princeton, with work beginning Monday.
During Monday night’s City Council meeting, Code Enforcement Officer and Assistant Fire Chief Jonathan Chewning provided an update on the demolition project, noting that the work required the street to be closed on Monday.

Mayor Brock Thomas explained, in response to a question from Councilwoman Sheila Gates, that the street closure on Monday was a safety precaution.

The buildings at 130 and 134 East Main Street are being torn down after severe weather earlier this year caused the roof to collapse at the Beauty Box, creating a safety hazard.
