The Caldwell County Special Olympics has just finished the bowling season with a successful showing in the Kentucky State Bowling Tournament, but now it is time to move on to the basketball season.
According to Special Olympics Basketball Coach Roy Gene Rogers, the team and coaches will get little or no rest as both basketball practice and games begin this week.
click to download audioRogers announced that a major event is scheduled for the Caldwell County Special Olympics on Saturday, January 17. This will be the annual Winter Fest Basketball Tournament hosted by the local teams and will be one of the biggest in the state, drawing athletes from across the state to participate.
Rogers noted that with that many teams attending, it will bring hundreds of players and supporters to Princeton and should be a boost to the local economy.
