An unusual incident in Princeton on Wednesday led to multiple police calls and a series of charges for a Tennessee teenager.

According to Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison, officers received a report shortly before 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, about a man who had left the hospital with an IV in his arm and was acting disruptive and belligerent.

Police then received several calls that the same man was seen running into traffic on U.S. Highway 62 West.

Upon arrival, officers said they observed the man in the middle of the highway and attempted to get him out of the road to check on his welfare.

Officers said the man appeared intoxicated and didn’t comply with repeated orders to stop running.

Police arrested 18-year-old Emmanuel Jigo of Antioch on charges of second-degree disorderly conduct, public intoxication involving a controlled substance, and third-degree fleeing or evading police. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.

Later that day, around 1:00 p.m., police reported that Jigo assaulted two members of the jail staff and was subsequently charged with third-degree assault.
