Ronnie “Ron” Turner, I, a husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 75 in Marion, Kentucky. Born on July 2, 1950, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, Ron lived a life marked by love, faith, and service to his family.
Ron leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Katherine Lee Lipscomb Turner, who was his steadfast companion and best friend. Together, they celebrated life’s joys and faced its challenges side by side. He was the proud father of Betsy Perkins and her husband, Greg, of Henderson, KY; Angela Thurmond and her husband, Joe, of Henderson, KY; and Ronnie W Turner, II, of Eddyville, KY. He cherished his grandchildren, Jacob, Magan, Isaac, Isabelle, Kaitlynn, Gabriel, Olivia, Benjamin, and Dominic, as well as his great-grandchildren, Levi, Hunner, Asher, Jase, Ezra, Gabriella, Sianna, Rylee and Gideon.
Ron was a brother to Kathy Lynn Cobb and her husband, Gary, of West Branch, Michigan; Patricia Hill of Newport, Michigan; Mary Therecia Braden of LaSalle, Michigan; Rhonda Kundrat and her husband, Bob, of Monroe, Michigan; Greg Turner and his wife, Rebecca, of Monroe, Michigan; and Jimmy Turner of French Town, Michigan.
Ron attended the Second Baptist Church of Eddyville, where he found joy in fellowship and worship. He served as a deacon at LaSalle Missionary Baptist Church in LaSalle, Michigan, where he sang in the choir and shared his passion his wisdom with the youth.
Those who knew Ron understood his love for singing, an activity that brought him immense joy. His love for the outdoors was surpassed only by his love for spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Ronnie Turner was preceded in death by his father, James Turner; mother, Euritha Smith Turner; and sister Euritha Gay Congioloso. All who knew him will remember him as a gentle soul, a man whose presence was reassuring and inspiring. He left a positive impact on his family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 11:00 to 1:00 at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 202,5 at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
