Patricia Anne Purnell-Brown, age 69, of Kuttawa, passed away December 18, 2025, at Tristar Centennial in Nashville.
Patricia Anne Purnell-Brown was born June 26, 195,6 to the late James Enoch and Clare Dykstra Purnell. She grew up in Flossmoor, Illinois, and lived a life shaped by curiosity, learning, and travel. Over the years, she made her home in many places, including New York, Texas, Colorado, Kansas, Tennessee, and finally Kuttawa, Kentucky. Patricia earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Bloomington and went on to complete her master’s degree in Champaign, Illinois. An Anthropology major with a master’s focus in museums, she also studied in Mexico, reflecting her deep interest in culture and history. In her younger years, Patricia was an avid camper and throughout her life she loved to travel, always eager to explore new places and experiences.
She is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” Brown of Kuttawa; sister, Debbie (Paul) Gibertini of Illinois; brother, Jeff (Martha) Purnell of Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public services held at this time.
