Caldwell County Grand Jury Issues Indictments for Burglary, Drugs, and Weapons

Burglary, drug possession and weapon violations were among multiple indictments returned by the Caldwell County Grand Jury from its December session.

Joseph Lane of Princeton was indicted on a complicity to third-degree burglary charge and a second-degree persistent felony offender.

According to Princeton Police, Lane was arrested on September 7 after reportedly taking merchandise from the Princeton Walmart without paying for it. .

Police said Lane had previously been trespassed from the store due to past thefts.

A true bill was returned on Johnathan Milstead of Princeton on several charges, including first-offense driving under the influence, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of meth with a firearm enhancement, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to notify the Department of Transportation of an address change. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on or about September 19, 2025, and were investigated by the Kentucky State Police.

The grand jury also returned a no true bill on Milstead after considering the charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and the offense was dismissed.

David Oliver, Jr. of Princeton was indicted for meth possession following an incident that occurred around August 11, 2025, which was investigated by the Princeton Police Department.

Dawson Teague of Princeton was indicted on charges of theft by unlawful taking over $1,000 or more, three counts of theft by unlawful taking – a firearm, first-degree criminal mischief, and complicity of theft by unlawful taking of a controlled substance under $10,000.

Teague faces charges stemming from an incident that took place sometime between January 29 and January 31, 2025, which was investigated by the Princeton Police Department.

The grand jury returned a no true bill on the felony charges of first-degree and second-degree strangulation filed against Rico Roman of Princeton, resulting in the dismissal of those charges related to an incident on or about October 8, 2025.

However, a true bill was returned on a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree assault, and the case was remanded to Caldwell District Court.
