Drivers in west central Kentucky will continue to see some holiday relief at the pump.

That’s according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report, where Monday the average price for a gallon of gas in the region is $2.38, about four cents lower than last week.

It’s around $2.60 in Trigg County, $2.31 in Christian County, $2.42 in Todd County, $2.52 in Caldwell County and $2.47 in Hopkins County.

In Bowling Green it’s $2.37, in Elizabethtown it’s $2.36, in Louisville it’s $2.58, in Owensboro it’s $2.33, and in Paducah it’s $2.28.

For comparison, gas averaged $2.65 a year ago in the region, and the record high remains $4.74, set in June 2022.

AAA says falling crude oil prices and steady fuel supplies are helping keep gas prices down as the holiday travel season continues. Nationwide, the average price for a gallon of unleaded has dropped three cents over the past week to $2.82, the lowest national average since December 2020.

The national average is now 19 cents lower than a month ago and 20 cents cheaper than this time last year. AAA notes 2025 has seen relatively stable gas prices, with few major spikes.

Crude oil prices also declined last week, with West Texas Intermediate crude settling at $56.74 a barrel. U.S. crude oil inventories remain about 4 percent below the five-year average for this time of year.

Meanwhile, the national average price for public electric vehicle charging held steady at 38 cents per kilowatt hour over the past week.
