Leola “Lee” Anderson passed away at the age of 96 on the last day of the year 2025, at Baptist Health of Paducah. She was born on May 3, 1929, in Ashley County, Arkansas.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilford J. “Butch” Anderson, Leola’s father, Linnie Doss, mother and father, Leida Roark Pope and Wylie Pope, and 10 siblings. She was the loving mother of Dee Ross of Kansas City, KS, Sandra Moore of Princeton, KY, Doris Belcher of Princeton, KY, and her son Joseph “Joe” Anderson of Princeton, KY. Through her children, Lee’s legacy blossomed with her grandchildren-Mary Richardson, Ronda Gray, April Maulsby, Bobbi Jo Dunlap, Angie Nichols, Josh Monroe, Jessica Rogers, Perry Odell, Amber Spears, Megan Curtner, Brittany Wray, Nathan Anderson, and Elijah Anderson, as well as 30 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
During World War II, Lee served her country with determination, working in an ammunition factory, contributing to the war effort. Her resolve during those times was a testament to her character, resilient, committed, and patriotic. After the war, she continued to dedicate her time and energy to her community, becoming a familiar and welcoming face as a greeter for Walmart, with her bright smile.
She was happy when indulging in her favorite pastimes of playing Bingo, cards, and quilting.
Her departure is a loss to all who were fortunate enough to know her, as she leaves behind cherished memories and an example of a life well-lived. She will be remembered as a woman who was the cornerstone of her family. Leola “Lee” Anderson’s love and kindness will continue to reside in the hearts of those she loved.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:30 Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Noel officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
