Princeton City Council Hears Community Updates, Approves Board Reappointment

The Princeton City Council heard several updates and approved a board reappointment during a brief meeting Monday night.

Mayor Brock Thomas provided an update on the sidewalk projects that many residents have likely seen taking place around the community.

click to download audioPublic Works Director Chris Pool announced that leaf collection has ended for the season, with crews picking up 223 cubic yards this year, which he said was significantly down from last year.

In another update, Councilman Jim Joiner, who serves as the council’s representative on the Princeton-Caldwell County Airport Board, said that the state electrical inspection of the new 10-unit t-hangar has been completed. He said the last approval will be an engineer walk-through before the hangar is ready for plane occupancy.

During new business, the Council approved the only item on the agenda, reappointing Andrea Nicole McGowan to the Princeton Code Enforcement Board with a term expiring November 1, 2029.
