Bobby Hyde, 76, of Cadiz

Bobby Joe Hyde, age 76, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at his home in Cadiz.

He was born on July 28, 1949, in Lamasco, Kentucky, to Woodrow Hyde and Addie Lee Hyde, who preceded him in death.

Bobby was a member of the Trigg County High School Class of 1967. In 1968, he was drafted into the United States Army and sent to Vietnam, serving in the 1st Inf. Div., 1st Avn. Bn. After his honorable discharge in 1970, he returned to Trigg County and married the love of his life, Kathy Littlejohn Hyde, on September 5th of the same year.

Bobby worked as a maintenance electrician at Johnson Controls for 42 years. After the plant’s closure, he continued his career at the USEC plant in Paducah, retiring in 2015. He also pursued his passion for farming and raising cattle, becoming a recognized figure in agriculture. In 2025, he was honored as Trigg County’s Farmer of the Year and was recently awarded the Woodmen of the World Environmentalist of the Year award, reflecting his commitment to both his land and community. Bobby loved to farm and was known for his strong work ethic.

A devoted member of Caldwell Blue Spring Baptist Church for many years, Bobby faithfully served as treasurer and trustee. He was exceptionally active within the church, always willing to serve when and where needed. He loved God, his family, and his church. He was a devoted husband and father and a friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Wallace, Jackie, and Jimmie Hyde; his sisters Betty Hyde and Nancy Fox; his brother-in-law, Charles Littlejohn; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue & Roger Pryor.

Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Kathy Littlejohn Hyde, as well as their two children, Tammy Hyde of Cadiz and Brian Hyde (Jenny) of Bumpus Mills, TN. He also leaves behind a brother-in-law, Deon Fox, of Cadiz, and sisters-in-law, Patsy Littlejohn, of Princeton, and Ruby Hyde, Loretta Hyde, and Martha Hyde, all of Cadiz. He considered Dawson Haney and Josh, Jenna, & Jayden Visingardi as his grandchildren, and his many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews were all as special to him as he was to them.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 11, 2026, with Bro. Ronnie Sivells and Bro. Steve Hardy officiating. A burial with military honors will follow at Caldwell Blue Spring Cemetery.
