The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office welcomed four new deputies to its staff this week.
According to Sheriff Brent White, Deputies Bradley Dunn of Eddyville and Kip Darnell of Cadiz will be assigned to the Operations Division as full-time, uniform patrol deputies. They both will attend the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training academy program in 2026.
Sheriff White says that a Kentucky Supreme Court order issued in November 2025 requires more court security staff for particular types of judicial buildings by March 1, 2026, including the judicial center in Eddyville.
As a result, he says Deputies Jon Pettit of Princeton and Boyd Bates of Fredonia will take on part-time roles in the Court Security Division. Sheriff White notes that both deputies are certified peace officers in Kentucky, bringing with them many years of valuable experience.
Chief Circuit Judge Jamus Redd administered the oath of office to all four deputies on Monday.
