William DePew, 58, of Princeton

William Harold DePew, 58, of Princeton, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Princeton Nursing & Rehabilitation.

William was born on March 1, 1967, in Salina, Kansas, to the late James Jansen DePew and Nancy Lee DePew. Lived in St. Louis, MO, for most of his life. A painter by trade, William took pride in honest work and the satisfaction of a job done right. Later in life, he brought that same dedication to the kitchen, where he refined his talents as a line cook and became known for preparing meals that brought comfort and connection.

William will be remembered for his kindness, his keen sense of humor, and the way he could put a smile on anyone’s face. He had an easy warmth about him, and he cared deeply for the people in his life. Friends and family alike knew they could count on William for a laugh, a good conversation, or a steady presence when it mattered.

He also had a genuine passion for collecting swords and knives, taking pride in the craftsmanship and history behind each piece. It was a hobby that reflected his appreciation for detail, tradition, and the stories objects can hold.

Above all, William adored being a grandfather. His grandson, Jayce, was the apple of his eye, and William treasured every moment they shared. Although he faced many challenges in his life, he continued to grow and became a man his family was proud of and a friend you could rely on.

He is survived by his brother, Robert L. DePew; his sister, Danielle (DePew) Myers; his daughter, Jessica Danielle DePew; his grandson, Jayce William Rulo; his two stepsons, Blake Harvath and Nathan Harvath; and his best friend, Michelle Jenkins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Jay DePew; his sister, Michelle Kay DePew; and his parents, James Jansen DePew and Nancy L. (Napier) Fultz.

The family is grateful for the care and kindness shown to William. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
