**SERVICES FOR FRED EDWARDS HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED AS SHOWN BELOW, DUE TO THE IMPENDING WINTER STORM WARNING**
Fred Edwards, age 73, of Kuttawa, passed away January 14, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Fred was born November 3, 1952, to the late Chester Allen and Dorothy Lee Edwards.
Fred was a true public servant at heart. He spent many years as a 911 dispatcher for Livingston County, as well as serving as chief deputy dispatcher. He loved helping and caring for people and was kind-hearted and loving. He coached basketball, baseball, and the Paralympics for children. He was an avid baseball fan, having a great love for the Cubs. However, his greatest love was for his family, especially being a grandpops.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Lisa Whitaker Edwards; son, Jeremy (Melissa) Edwards of Oak Park, IL; step-daughter, Vanessa (Simin) Jakobson of Denmark; step-son, Joseph (Alanna) Sumner of Texas; grandchildren, Owyn, Orla and Ozzie Edwards; step-grandchildren, Abigail, Trevor and Sullivan Jakobson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Bryson.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Lakeland Funeral Home with military honors to follow.
