Martha “Marcie” Jane Smith, 75, of Eddyville, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health in Paducah.
She was born in Oak Park, Illinois on December 6, 1950, to her late parents, Thomas and Lillian Downey Smyth. Marcie was of the Christian faith and moved from Illinois to Eddyville eighteen years ago, where she retired as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office and found great joy in gardening.
Marcie is survived by her husband of 55 years, William “Bill” Carl Smith and son, William C. Smith, II of Eddyville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five brothers, Thomas, Harold, Richard, Michael and Robert Smyth.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Lakeland Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
