Third district State Senator Craig Richardson is keeping an eye on the developing state budget, the use of coal to generate electricity by TVA, and has filed legislation that could provide some tort reform.
During the weekly Legislative Update Program Senator Richardson says he is keeping an eye on the state budget process that is underway in the Kentucky House Appropriations and Revenue Committee.
Senator Richardson says he was pleased to hear TVA officials say they will continue burning coal to generate electricity.
He says there is a need for tort reform to protect the public and businesses in the state.
Richardson says legislation needs to address the needs of both sides.
Richardson represents Christian and Caldwell Counties in the Kentucky Senate.
