Brock Thomas to Run for Second Term as Princeton Mayor

Princeton Mayor Brock Thomas has announced his intention to seek a second term in the upcoming November General Election.

He announced his decision on social media and said he would file for reelection after the May Primary Election.

Thomas said it has been an honor and a privilege to serve as mayor over the past three years, and he told WPKY’s News Edge that he is seeking reelection to remain involved in the city’s ongoing positive progress.

click to download audioThomas graduated from Caldwell County High School in 1990 and from Murray State University in 1995. His career includes roles with the Department of Social Services and as a deputy with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, before serving as sheriff and later as judge-executive of Caldwell County. When he was elected as mayor in the 2022 November General Election, Thomas was serving as a school resource officer at the local school with the Princeton Police Department.

Thomas is married to Malissa, who serves as assistant superintendent for Caldwell County Public Schools, and they have five children.

Candidates have until June 2 to file for non-partisan races in the November General Election.
