Cathy Lynn Hodapp, age 67 of Eddyville, KY, (formerly of Marine, IL) was called to her eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 16, 2026.
Cathy was born August 3, 1958, in St. Claire County, IL, to Denzil Ray and Elizabeth Louise Bastian Cummins, along with her twin sister, Carol Recklein.
She was a graduate of Collinsville High School. Cathy proudly served her country in the United States Air Force, after which, she transitioned into a career as a surgical technician, then dedicated the latter part of her career as a special education/behavior aide in the Triad School District, where she was known for her patience, kindness, compassion and deep commitment to helping students succeed.
Cathy was a dedicated member of the Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. Cathy had a lifelong passion for horses; she loved to travel, spend time outdoors caring for her plants and boating on the lake. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her daughter and her grandchildren.
Those who knew Cathy will remember her bright smile, generous and gentle spirit and a faith that was so deep, she allowed it to guide her ways. Her love for the Lord shone in the way she lived with kindness, joy, and a heart always eager to serve others. She leaves behind not only treasured memories but also a legacy of love, faith and strength that will continue through her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her beloved husband, David Philip Mansfield; daughters, Ashley (Daniel) Bugg of Fredonia, KY and Jessica (Tyler) Sills of Paducah, KY; sons, Ryan (Gena) Hodapp of Troy, IL and Kerry (Sara) Mansfield of Paducah, KY; twin sister, Carol Recklein of Fenton, Mo and Cindy Brechner of Troy, IL; brother, Steve (Kyla) Cummins of Burkburnett, Texas; grandchildren, Tucker, Grant and Arlie Bugg, Katherine and Julia Mansfield, Eli and Arlo Sills, Beau and Luke Hodapp; numerous adored nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Hodapp.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Friday, February 20, 2026, at Lakeland Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 20, 202,6 at Lakeland Funeral Home with Bro. Marc Bell officiating.
