Maureen Theresa Derdzinski, age 77, of Kuttawa, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at her home.
Maureen was born in Chicago, Illinois, to her parents, the late Arthur Sorenson and Theresa Kosarog Sorenson. She later moved to Alsip, Illinois, where she worked as a nanny until her retirement. Maureen enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, boating, car racing, and tending to her flowers. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Maureen is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ron Derdzinski of Kuttawa; one daughter, Shelia (Joseph) Jacobson of Old Mill Creek, Illinois; two grandchildren, Hannah Jacobson and Mike Jacobson; her mother, Theresa Sorenson of Blue Island, Illinois; and three sisters.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Sorenson, and one sister.
Visitation for Maureen Derdzinski will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Lakeland Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Lakeland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
