Roy Baker, 79, of Princeton

Roy Edward Baker, as Roy to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, in Princeton, Kentucky.

Born on April 17, 1946, in the small Missouri town of Hardage, Missouri, to his late parents, Thomas Earl and Hilda Lorraine Fitts Baker.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James Thomas and Lourie Ann Baker, of Princeton, KY; his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Ronald Pensel, of Vancouver, Washington; and his cherished grandchildren, Ireland McKenzie Baker, Haiden Thomas Baker, Tyler Lowery, and Cody Sherrill as well as his great-grandchild, Karsyn Lee Sisk. Roy’s life was enriched by the companionship of his lifelong best friend, William Dearing, and his brother-in-law, Kevin Giuon.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen Elaine Guion Baker.

Roy served his country in the U.S. Air Force. After his service, he built a career as a hardworking lineman for Union Electric in St. Louis, MO, a role that exemplified his dedication to providing for his family and community.

Roy was an avid fisherman who found solace and joy in the calm waters of his favorite fishing spots. His love for football was undeniable. Roy held season tickets for the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams, cheering them on with the same steadfast support he showed for all his passions.

Roy’s warmth and intelligence touched the lives of all who knew him. His legacy is not only in the work he accomplished and the hobbies he cherished but in the love he shared. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered as a man of integrity, strength, and genuine affection.

There are no services scheduled. Morgan’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
