Dennis Porter, 66, of Eddyville

Dennis E. Porter, 66, of Eddyville, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville.

He was born on November 4, 1959, in Caldwell County, Kentucky, to his late parents, Charles Edward and Lillian McAllister Porter. He dedicated more than twenty years of service as a correctional officer at the Kentucky State Penitentiary, where most called him “Porter.” He attended Cedar Bluff and was a devoted fan of Caldwell County High School football. Dennis rarely missed a game until his health no longer allowed him to attend. He also cheered on the University of Kentucky and enjoyed watching nearly every sport he could, especially the Little League World Series.

Above all, Dennis was a family man. He was deeply loved and absolutely crazy about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him his greatest joy.

Porter was survived by his two sons, Kyle (Dawn) Porter of Princeton, Justin (Amber) Porter of Metropolis, IL; sister, Penny Jo Porter of Princeton; four grandchildren, Carlin Porter of Princeton, Braden (Lexi) Porter, Joseph Porter, and Lillian Porter, all of Metropolis, IL; two great-grandchildren, Augustus Porter, Wrenleigh Porter.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.
