A Princeton man is facing multiple charges after a police pursuit Friday night.

Shortly after 9:45 p.m., Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison says officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on 33-year-old Javaris Williams on South Seminary Street, who they knew had an active warrant. He says Williams failed to stop and led officers on a pursuit that ended on Mechanic Street.

Officers reported detecting the smell of marijuana when approaching Williams. Upon further investigation, officers said Williams had both marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Williams was taken into custody and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, driving on a DUI suspended license – 2nd offense, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance for hallucinogens, and display or possession of a cancelled or fictitious operator’s license.

Additionally, police say Williams was served with a Christian County Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on a traffic case from 2025. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
