Caldwell and Lyon County Storm Shelter Locations

With the threat of severe weather tonight, Caldwell and Lyon County officials have announced storm shelter locations available, if needed.

According to Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin, the following locations are available:

-Caldwell County Courthouse 100 E Market Street #23, Princeto
-Princeton First Baptist Church (open at 7:30 pm) 300 West Main Street, Princeton
-Fredonia First Baptist Church 208 Cassidy Avenue, Fredonia
-Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian 303 Cassidy Avenue, Fredonia
-Donaldson Baptist Church in the Farmersville community 104 Enon Road, Princeton

Officials encourage residents who encounter any travel impacts after the storm, such as downed trees or limbs, to call the non-emergency dispatch line at 270-365-4653. In the event of an emergency, of course, call 911.

The shelters that will be open and allow pets are:

-Hopewell Baptist Church, Hopewell Road, Kuttawa
-New Bethel Baptist; New Bethel Road, Eddyville
-Chestnut Oak Methodist Church, 87 State Route 1271, Kuttawa

Other shelters available that will not allow pets include:

-Kuttawa First Baptist, 316 Walnut Drive, Kuttawa
-Lamasco Baptist, 12592 State Route 93 South, Eddyville
-Macedonia Baptist, 3124 State Route 93 North, Kuttawa

Lyon County officials encourage everyone to stay home during severe weather, but if you do encounter any travel issues afterward, such as downed trees or limbs, you may report them to 270-625-2744 or 270-963-1557. You may also call the non-emergency dispatch line at 270-388-0911. In case of an emergency, always call 911.
